VP, Engineering

Role Summary

As the VP, Engineering, you’ll take on strategic direction of our technology function.

You’ll be responsible for aligning technology investments with business goals, driving product innovation, and enabling scalable growth across the organization. As a key member of the executive team, you’ll guide high-impact engineering teams, shape our technical roadmap, and help us deliver reliable, high-performing products that serve our customers and power our mission.

You will oversee the full technology stack that underpins the products and platforms we take to market. This role requires a hands-on, solution-oriented leader with strong technical depth, a bias for action, and the ability to deliver results with creativity and efficiency not just through scale, but through smart decisions and thoughtful trade-offs.

You’ll lead long-term technology strategy while partnering across teams to influence decisions, unlock innovation, and accelerate time to value.

What you’ll be doing:

● Define and continuously evolve the company’s long-term technology vision.

● Ensure the technology roadmap aligns with the company’s overall strategic and product objectives.

● Drive architectural direction in collaboration with the Chief Architect, making critical buy-vs-build and infrastructure decisions.

● Anticipate technological trends and position the company to capitalize on emerging innovations (e.g., AI, automation, platform modernization).

2. Engineering Delivery & Execution Oversight

● Own the successful delivery of all product and platform initiatives across multiple sectors (IAM, Telco, Public Sector).

● Set and monitor execution standards, including velocity, quality, and team accountability.

● Oversee engineering budget, resource planning, and delivery forecasting.

● Champion a metrics-driven delivery culture focused on outcomes and continuous improvement.

3. Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership

● Work closely with the Product, Sales, Business, and Customer Success teams to align technology with customer needs and business value.

● Represent the technology function at the executive level, board meetings, and with external stakeholders (e.g., partners, investors).

● Drive strategic initiatives that foster joint execution across business and technology domains.

4. Team Building & Leadership

● Lead and develop a world-class technology organization by hiring, mentoring, and retaining top talent.

● Define and evolve the engineering organizational structure, career paths, and capacity planning.

● Promote a culture of innovation, continuous learning, inclusion, and operational excellence.

● Drive leadership succession planning and ensure timely hiring of key roles.

5. Governance, Security, and Compliance

● Own risk management, data governance, and cybersecurity strategies from a technology lens.

● Ensure systems, platforms, and processes meet relevant compliance and regulatory standards (e.g., SOC2, GDPR).

● Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and compliance leaders while driving technical implementation and enforcement.

What you’ll be needing:

● Proven experience (10+ years) in senior technology leadership roles, including CTO or VP Engineering roles.

● Deep technical background with hands-on understanding of modern technology stacks, cloud infrastructure, platform scalability, and data security.

● Track record of driving large-scale engineering execution and transformation initiatives.

● Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with business, product, and customer-facing functions.

● Experience managing distributed teams and complex technology ecosystems.

Preferred:

● Experience in Identity & Access Management, Telco solutions, or Public Sector technologies.

● Familiarity with compliance frameworks like SOC2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.

● MBA, MSc in Computer Science, or related technical/management disciplines

● DevOps and Systems Administration

● IT Security

● Service Management

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₦4,000,000.00 – ₦5,000,000.00 per month
